Fixperts Launch, 100% Design

The Little Things will be part of the Fixperts launch at 100% Design.
You’ll find out more about this Fix with Denise Stephens (Enabled by Design) soon on this website.
The Fixperts project connects people. People that are good at thinking and making are invited to meet and help someone they don’t know with a day-to-day problem that has been frustrating or difficult for them to overcome. We make a film about it, capturing the story of the fix. We then make these films available online to support the understanding of design through fixing.

Inclusive Design Workshop, Skopje, Macedonia

Florie Salnot participated in a five-day workshop on inclusive design in Skopje, Macedonia. This was organised by the British Council who brought together Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design (Julia Cassim) with the Macedonian Artisan Trade Association (MATA), European University and DUCOR- Partenija Zografski.
The workshop was the fourth in a serie taking place in Bosnia-Hercegovina, Croatia and Macedonia and was based on a model first trialled in Sarajevo in 2009. The aim was to co-design products with the students from Partnejija Zografski, a residential vocational school for hearing impaired students. The design and manufacture of these products would enable students to develop key skills, while the sale of the products would in turn become an income stream for the school. Three separate workshops were led by Matthew Harrison (Felt), Florie Salnot (Printed and Constructed Textiles) and James Tooze (Wood) along with Macedonian designers Vesna Avramovska, Marija Veteroska and Biljana Klekackoska.
