Plastic Bag Workshop

This bag workshop was carried out for Design Club during winter 2010. The aim was to introduce the participants (pupils in years 10 and 11) with an original process of recycling, enabling them to make a fashion accessory strictly from plastic bottles.

The Making Process
After having painted and cut the bottles into strips, the participants used them to weave a 60x60 cm square. The square was then folded into shape and put it into a wood structure. The whole was then submerged into hot sand. The heat of the sand fixed the bag into shape and the wood structure was removed.
