Bag making workshop with Design Club

Florie Salnot will lead a Bag Making workshop with Design Club (6 November-11 December 2010). This workshop will aim to give participants (pupils in years 10 and 11) a different vision of design and of the process of recycling by enabling them to make an unexpected fashion accessory, strictly from plastic bottles.

About Design Club
Design Club is an independent state schools partnership project by the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and Latymer Upper School. It is a club for pupils in Years 10 and 11, from 13 state and independent schools in the Hammersmith and Fulham area, who love to design and make things. The aim is to give an opportunity for participants to extend their skills and understanding of designing and making by bringing them face to face with innovating and original design projects.

Sustain exhibition

Florie Salnot’s Plastic Bottle project will be part of Sustain Exhibition at the Royal college of Art (23 September – 7 October 2010: RCA at the London Design Festival 2010).

Sustainbrings together sustainable practice from across the art and design disciplines of the RCA, in a unique exhibition that showcases objects, thinking and solutions to issues and arguments in the ever-more-complex arena of sustainability. From nutshell jewellery to life-changing solutions to global water shortages, from a mobile chai trolley to re-using textile waste to reduce landfill, RCA graduates demonstrate the 'systems'-thinking creativity of cross-disciplinary practice that is unique to the world's most influential postgraduate art and design school.
